The Worship of God

The faith community of First Baptist Monroe gathers for worship each Sunday at 10:30 AM. Our services would be classified as "traditional" with the goal being to glorify God with both our heads and hearts. Worship is planned by the ministry staff of the church and is lead each week by both staff and fellowship participants. We follow the common lectionary with the public reading of scripture,  make use of call and response statements of worshipers, have both congregational and choir lead music, and thoughtful proclamation from scripture for the challenging and deepening of congregants' faith lives. Our music is lead by live instruments, primarily the organ and piano, with occasional accompaniments from other instruments. You will find both men and women facilitating worship, as well as all ages represented in carrying out the aspects of the service.

First Baptist Monroe is mindful of the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis.

Our COVID-19 tab reveals how this church family responded, but we have returned to pre-Covid worship practices while supporting mask wearing for those who choose.
